How to find the best free stock photos

Finding stock photos that uniquely fit your company or brand image can be a little challenging. Different businesses need different kinds of photos for their marketing, advertising and social media.

Is free your best option, or would you pay a photographer for an amazing one-of-a-kind picture? Each project is different.

If you decide that free stock photos are the best option for your current project, we have compiled a list of resources that will let you search and download royalty-free photos:

Unsplash provides you with royalty free high-resolution photos. All of the photos are dedicated to the public domain and available for commercial purposes.

Pixabay provides high quality vectors, illustrations and images free of copyrights. You can modify, distribute and use them royalty free for anything you like, even in commercial applications.

Pexels is a search engine for stock photos. Simply type in the search bar what you are looking for, and Pexels will search various royalty free photo websites to help get you what you are looking for all in one place.

This is another search engine for free photos. These come from many sources and are license-specific. You can view a photo’s license by clicking on the license icon, below and left of photos to view the usage rights.

High-resolution photos are uploaded daily and you are encouraged to share the free photos however you like, aside from redistributing them.

You may download, modify, distribute and use these photos royalty free for anything you like, even in commercial applications. AVOPix also provides royalty free videos that you can use as well.

VectorStock is where you’ll be able to search for vector-only images that are royalty free. There are free vectors and paid vectors, but the link we provided for you takes you directly to the free vectors.

Free high-resolution pictures you can use on your personal and commercial projects. All pictures were photographed by Ryan McGuire and are free of copyright restrictions.
